The Námestie hrdinov Square
Important historical buildings with more than 100 years of history can be found here—the Town Hall, “Jozefčekov dom” – The Jozefček’s House, building of historical Hotel Lev and “Vežičkový dom” - the Tower House. The whole square was reconstructed between 2010 and 2011. As a result a complex recreational area for the citizens and visitors of Levice was created.
The Monument to the Slain Soldier Victims of the World War II
The Monument was built as a memorial of soldiers who fought in the battles for the liberation of Levice. A public collection was held to finance its construction and the construction material was used from a travertine quarry in Levice. The author of the design was Ms. Helena Tabyová from Levice.
The Town Hall
Levice was without a town hall until the middle of the 18th century. At the end of the 19th century, the representatives of the town leadership decided to build the Town Hall Building. The costs reached up to 200.000 Austrian-Hungarian crowns. The Town Hall building was constructed in the late-romanticism style with elements of Hungarian Art Nouveau. In 1920s, the reconstruction to its present shape began.
