Kalinčiakovo, originally Varšany, ranks among the oldest villages of Hont county. The first notice of the village is from 1242. During the World War II, Kalinčiakovo belonged to Hungary. The name Kalinčiakovo is used since 1948. Since 1 January 1976, the village of Kalinčiakovo has been affiliated to the town of Levice.

Roman church

The oldest and most famous architectonic monument of the surroundings is the Roman church from the 12th century. In 1655, it was transferred to the Reformed Christian church that owns it until today. Murals were uncovered in the fire of the church in 1832, depicting celestial bodies and animals, but they were whitewashed over during the repair in 1833 to 1835. Outer walls of the nave and apses were reinforced by buttresses at renewal in the 19th century. In 1932, Roman windows and a portal were found during reconstructions. Approximately in 2002, the church was hit by a lightning that damaged the nave masonry. The last works were done in 2003 when the buttresses and the tower were replastered and the roof was repaired. The church was originally fenced with a fortress wall, but only negligible residues of them remained. Tombstones of the medieval cemetery protrude from the ground in some places in its vicinity.

Baroque manor house

The originally baroque manor house was built in the 18th century and then rebuilt in the classicist style in 1820. It is a single-storey three-wing building. The manor house was built by Nyáry family who owned properties in Kalinčiakovo until 1945. Nyáry family ranked among important Hungarian dynasties. In 1836, Anton Nyáry and his children were awarded the title of baron. Many members of this family were born in Kalinčiakovo. The last owner of the Kalinčiakovo manor was Margita Bolfras, née Nyáry. Her property was rented by Jewish steward Móric Freyer. Slovak elementary school was established in one part of the manor house in 1924. After the second land reform, colonials were temporarily accommodated in the manor house from 1948. Currently, the manor house is used for various cultural and social events and expositions Return to the Childhood and Return to the Past are established there. Part of them is devoted to important native Imrich Karvaš.  The expositions can be seen only based on prior arrangement.

Margita – Ilona resort

The first written notice of the use of the thermal springs for bathing comes from 1915 when a lieutenant of the emperor's army had sitting pools tiled with natural stone built for his soldiers. The name of the lido was derived from the estate Margita that was named after baroness Bolfras, née Nyáry, the last owner of the Kalinčiakovo manor.  Ilona pool was established in 1934 in the cadastre of Malý Kiar and was named after Ilona Francisci. The today’s holiday resort was gradually built by unification of those two separate pools. Not long time ago, there was a rocking bridge over the Sikenica brook, a favourite attraction for the visitors, between two pools. Currently, the resort is composed of four pools – swimming pool “Adam” with the length of 50 m, relaxing pools “Eva” and “Tereza” and a children’s pool “Ilona”. The area provides accommodation in bungalows, cottages and space for tents and caravans in the camping site. Sports facilities, restaurants and snack bars are available for visitors. There is rolling land around, suitable for non-demanding strolls. The resort celebrated 100 years anniversary in 2015.
