The Synagogue
The synagogue was built in 1883 thanks to the chairman Jozef Pólya and the project architect Gustáv Šišák from Kalná nad Hronom. This was also confirmed by a unique discovery made during the reconstruction works. In March 2011, a flask with two coins and a document confirming the date of the laying of the foundation stone—24 April 1883— was found in the masonry of the front side of the Synagogue. Between 2010 and 2012, the synagogue underwent an extensive reconstruction thanks to the help of the town authorities. The opening ceremony took place on 26 April 2012 and the Synagogue became a beautiful and presentable cultural site.
